Job Purpose:
The Port Captain is responsible for overseeing vessel operations in Palembang, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role will coordinate with crews, management, and relevant stakeholders to maintain high standards of vessel performance and readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect vessels and monitor daily as well as overall vessel operations.
Supervise and ensure adherence to deck maintenance schedules.
Review and approve purchase requests from the deck.
Keep updated with and monitor compliance to new regulations.
Ensure all vessels maintain valid and proper certifications.
Monitor crew schedules and onboard crew processes, ensuring smooth operations.
Represent the company and ensure attendance at all COPI meetings.
Prepare and submit CMCL reports at the end of each month.
Act as the point of contact and provide assistance in emergency situations involving Soechi Lines vessels in Palembang.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or related field.
Holding a valid Deck Officer (ANT) license (preferably ANT II or higher).
Minimum 5 years of seafaring or port operational experience.
Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and vessel operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
