We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight for electrical engineering activities associated with LNG/FSRU projects and vessel conversion.
The role will be responsible for reviewing EPC electrical designs, overseeing the integration of complex electrical systems into existing LNG carrier infrastructure, managing equipment procurement and testing, and supporting commissioning and final handover.
Design Review & Verification
Independently review and provide technical approval/input on EPC contractor electrical engineering deliverables, including:
Single-Line Diagrams (SLD)
Load flow studies
Short-circuit studies
Arc flash studies
Transient stability studies
Electrical layouts
Wiring and termination diagrams
Material Take-Offs (MTO)
Technical specifications
Equipment datasheets
Verify electrical designs against approved project specifications, Class requirements, and applicable international standards.
Identify design gaps, technical risks, and interface issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
Vessel Conversion & Electrical Integration
Monitor the electrical integration of LNG regasification modules and associated systems into existing LNG carrier infrastructure.
Provide technical oversight for the integration of HV/LV switchboards, transformers, generators, power distribution systems, and electrical auxiliaries.
Review electrical interfaces between existing vessel systems and newly installed regasification equipment.
Ensure electrical installations meet applicable hazardous area and Ex requirements.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, shipyards, engineering teams, and vendors to resolve electrical integration and interface issues.
Procurement & Vendor Inspection
Review technical specifications and datasheets for major electrical equipment, including:
Transformers
Switchgear
Generators
HV/LV panels
Motor control systems
Other critical electrical equipment
Provide technical input during equipment selection and procurement.
Review vendor drawings, technical documentation, and inspection/test procedures.
Participate in and/or witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), inspections, and functional testing.
Review test results and ensure identified deficiencies are appropriately addressed before equipment acceptance.
Commissioning & Handover
Provide technical supervision during pre-commissioning, commissioning, system integration testing (SIT), and start-up.
Monitor electrical system testing and integration to ensure systems perform in accordance with approved specifications and project requirements.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues during commissioning.
Review commissioning documentation, test records, punch lists, and system completion documentation.
Support the successful transition from shipyard/conversion project to commercial operation.
Compliance & Technical Assurance
Ensure electrical systems comply with applicable Classification Society requirements, including ABS and/or DNV.
Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and regulations, including IEC, IEEE, ATEX, and applicable hazardous area requirements.
Review technical deviations, non-conformities, and corrective actions and ensure timely resolution.
Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID, and other project assurance activities where electrical input is required.
Commercial & Contract Support
Provide technical input regarding EPC contracts, variation orders, technical changes, and commercial claims related to electrical scope.
Review technical and commercial implications of design changes and additional work.
Support evaluation of contractor and vendor proposals from both technical and commercial perspectives.
Coordinate with Project and Commercial teams on electrical scope, variations, and contract requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Master's Degree and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Minimum 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience, with at least 5–8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, offshore, marine, or FSRU projects.
Experience in FPSO projects will be considered an advantage.

Proven experience reviewing electrical studies, engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and EPC deliverables.
Strong knowledge of applicable Class Society rules and international electrical standards, including ABS, DNV, IEC, IEEE, and ATEX.
Experience with electrical system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or equivalent.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, or equivalent engineering/drawing review tools.
Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, system integration testing, and electrical system handover.
Strong understanding of EPC contracts, variation orders, and claims management.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working with EPC contractors, shipyards, vendors, Class Societies, and project teams.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Willing to undertake shipyard, vessel, offshore, and project-site assignments as required.
Valid offshore/site medical certification or willingness to obtain the required certification is preferred/required for relevant assignments.
